So...I've taken my cardboard ramblings to Twitter. I was messing around online last night, and discovered apparently I had made a Battlinbucs Twitter account in 2010, a couple years before this blog ever existed. I've been reading about how much of the cardboard conversation has moved to social media, so I figured it's time to give it a try.
I was able to track a few bloggers down on twitter, but I'm at a bit of a loss where to start. I've been using my personal twitter account for years, so I'm not totally lost. I've perfected fitting my witty quirps and Pirate rants to 140 characters. But I am still trying to figure out how the whole card collecting thing fits in.
So I'm turning to you, blogosphere. Who are the "must follows"? What does twitter offer collectors that blogging, forums, and all the other ways I spend way too much free time on this hobby not?
And if anyone would like to follow me, my twitter account is @battlinbucs
I'm leaving a comment so I can follow the must follow discussion - I have been a pretty lousy Tweeter and don't really follow any card collectors (or post anything card related on my feed)
ReplyDeleteI'm the same way. I rarely use my personal twitter account, and when I do it's never been card related. But I keep reading people saying that there's an active collecting community that uses twitter. I'm curious to see what folks have to say.
DeleteI use my Twitter account to as a news feed for local happenings and baseball. Peter Gammons tends to Tweet a half dozen times each early morning with different interesting articles from around the nation. It's a great way for a guy like me, who loves baseball and doesn't have cable, to catch up on the cool baseball happenings. I also follow lots of Cubs related tweeters and a few local news outlets.
ReplyDeleteI probably follow around five bloggers and my favorites are Zippy Zappy and The Lost Collector. Zippy posts all of his TTMs and Staten Island updates. It's good stuff.
Yeah, my personal twitter is pretty much all sportswriters, players, and teams that I follow. But I figured it would be fun to see what I can do card-wise on twitter.
